Sheryl (Shay) Elizabeth Sargent Trout

October 23, 1949 — August 31, 2024

It is with great sadness, we share, Sheryl (Shay) Elizabeth Sargent Trout, age 74, passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2024 in “Her cabin in the woods.”, surrounded by her sons and their wives in her final moments.

A daughter of the late Paul Edward Sargent and Sarah AnneMurphy, Sheryl was born on October 23, 1949.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Trout, Jr. and her granddaughter, Brittany Trachsel.

She was a graduate of Gnadenhutten High School, among many of her accomplishments, she graduated from Mount Vernon Nazarene University.  

Sheryl was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who greatly enjoyed caring for her family in a variety of ways, which included spending time with her family and friends, traveling, camping, family reunions, going to the thrift store, crocheting, crosswords, Tweety Bird, caring for her plants and flowers, her pencils, trying to “ride” the ocean waves and her favorite holiday, Halloween.  

She will deeply missed by her sons and their wives, Duane & Susan Trachsel, Christopher & Lenee Trachsel, her step-daughter Paula Trout, her grandchildren, Paege Trachsel, Taera Bright, Gage Griffith and Karrington Griffith, her step grandchildren Jessica Whitney and Dana Six, her great grandchildren, Nova Bright, Gabriel and Zayden Walker, Reminton, Kysen

 

 

The family will receive guests on Saturday, September 7, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at “Her Cabin in the Woods”.  Contact a family member for more information.
