Shawn Patrick Fitzgerald

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Shawn Patrick Fitzgerald on July 24, 2024. Born on February 13, 1986, Shawn was the beloved son of Debi Fitzgerald and the cherished identical twin brother of Chris Martin. His younger brother, Kerry Allen Fitzgerald, admired him deeply. Shawn was his mother’s "heart baby," a term reflecting their profound bond.

A talented and passionate athlete, Shawn was known for his fun-loving spirit and solid character. Though baseball was his first love, it was golf that truly captured his heart. He played in tournaments at Pebble Beach and Hawaii and consistently ranked second on his high school golf team, where he was an encouraging teammate and friend.

Shawn was deeply loved by his Uncle Steve, Auntie Tammy, and Auntie Janey. He was a fun and exciting uncle to Chris’s two boys, always bringing joy and laughter. Shawn is predeceased by his oldest brother, Jeffery Martin, and his grandparents, Mamaw Nancy Martin and Pa Earl Martin.

The loss of Shawn is profoundly felt by his family, friends, and all who knew him. A family remembrance will be held on Thanksgiving Day to honor and celebrate his life.

Shawn will be missed terribly, but his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
