Shaun Patrick McLain was born on September 24, 1978, in Merrillville, Indiana. He most recently made his home in Clayton, North Carolina. Shaun was a devoted husband to his wife, Melinda, and a loving father to their three children: Liam, Eamon, and Aubrey.

A passionate cook, Shaun enjoyed creating delicious meals for his family, and he cherished the time spent camping and attending concerts and movies. He was particularly fond of the music of the Smashing Pumpkins and Foo Fighters, and his love for basketball was a significant part of his life.
