She faced the challenges of lupus from a young age with extraordinary courage, never allowing her illness to define her. Instead, she chose to live fully — embracing each moment, lifting others with her kindness, and finding joy in life’s simplest blessings.

Shatoya was a source of light and comfort to her family and friends. She delighted in spending time with her loved ones, cherishing every gathering, conversation, and shared laugh. She is survived by her devoted mother, Ivy; her sisters, Alexis, Whitney, and Toya; her brother, Darius; her beloved daughter, Journee; and a large circle of extended family and friends who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

She was preceded in death by her cousin Derek; her maternal grandmother, Connie; and her maternal grandfather, Anthony.
