Sharon "Shar" Irene Allen, born on April 16, 1948, in Bellevue, Ohio, went to be with the Lord, peacefully on August 16, 2024. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, known for her unwavering compassion, determination, and zest for life.
Sharon spent her formative years working on her family’s farm before embarking on a successful career at Whirlpool Corporate Headquarters in Benton Harbor, MI. She graduated from York High School in Clyde, Ohio, in 1966 and attended Bowling Green State University.
Married to Larry Allen Sr., Sharon took immense joy in spending time with her family, including her children, Larry Allen and Kim Capaccio, and her grandchildren, who brought her infinite happiness. She was the proud grandmother of Taylor, Morgan, Trevor, Theodore, Winston, Elyse, Charlotte, Margaret, Hunter, Gerald II, and Tyler.
Known affectionately as "Shar," Sharon had a passion for cooking and baking, mastering the art of making the best strawberry jam, waffles, and homemade lasagna. She cherished family gatherings, often having pool parties and cookouts, and was known for her love of traveling. Sharon was also musically inclined, playing the piano and singing in church, while enjoying her favorite television shows such as "The Young & the Restless" and "The Hallmark Channel."
A lover of life, Sharon embraced every moment with a positive spirit alway willing to take time to listen to others. Her smile and laugh was infectious. She was deeply involved in her community through her church, and her career with organizations such as Awana, Habitat for Humanity, and the Chamber of Commerce just to name a few. She was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and relationships.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Larry Allen Sr.; her children, Larry & McKenna Allen, Kim & Jerry Cappico; her siblings, Joyce Woleslagel Skrak and Ruth Woleslagel Bennett; and many grandchildren Taylor Allen, Morgan Allen, Trevor Allen, Theodore Allen, Winston Allen, Elyse & Charlotte Carmichael, Margaret Leary, Hunter Capaccio, Gerald Capaccio II, Tyler Capaccio and a large extended family that will forever hold her memory dear.
