John "Scott" Kennedy was born in Sale Creek, TN.
He attended the University of Tennessee.
He served in WWII with the U.S. Air Force as a fighter pilot and earned the rank of lieutenant.
Scott was a successful businessman and co-founder of "Kennedy Brothers Furniture" with his brother Jack.
He was a former member of Carlouel Yacht Club, Belleair Country Club, Clearwater Lodge #127 F & AM, 32nd degree Mason with the Scottish Rite of Tampa, Egypt Temple Shrine of Tampa, the Royal Order of Jesters Tampa Court 89, a Kentucky Colonel, The Privateers of Clearwater, past president of 505 Club, and a charter member of Clearwater Touchdown Club.
He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Beverly of Clearwater; daughters: Kelly Kennedy (Mike Forwood) of Seminole and Susan Kennedy of Atlanta, GA.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred, brother, Jack, sisters, Jennie V. Alsabrook and Patricia Sidwell.
A Memorial Service was held at 12:30 pm on Saturday at Moss Feaster Funeral Home, 693 S. Belcher Road, Clearwater.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Suncoast Hospice Foundation, 5771 Roosevelt Blvd., Clearwater, FL 33760.
