She loved Pioche, Nevada. This is where she spent the majority of her life with her sweetheart Frank. She moved to Pioche as young, single, college graduate. To take a position as a juvenile probation officer. This Wild West town had nothing on the city slicker girl from Layton, UT that initially couldn’t figure out why everyone always waved in this small town. She was quick to make friends and quickly grew to love this small town thats she’d call home, she met and married Frank Hulse. She saw in him the qualities she wanted in a husband and father, and they together lovingly made a home on Hinman street for the majority of her years. This house became a home where babies were brought home, many road shows, heritage plays, and Halloween costumes were written and made with so much love. The door and freezer full of Schwan’s ice creams were always open to friends, missionaries, family or anyone who stopped by.
Supporting and loving her grandchildren, any time spent with them was magical whether making Mickey Mouse pancakes, or cuddling them into a grandma hug letting them know that grandma loved them “whole bunches” she was so incredibly proud of each one of them individually. She always made sure to support them from near and far. She loved to share each of their accomplishments and was always one of their greatest cheerleaders.

Sandra's life was greatly influenced by her love for Pioche, Nevada, where she spent the majority of her years alongside her beloved husband, Frank. She first arrived in Pioche as a young, single college graduate, taking up a position as a juvenile probation officer. Initially perplexed by the small town's friendly wave greetings, she quickly made friends and grew to cherish her new home. Sandra and Frank built a loving home on Hinman Street, where they welcomed their children and created countless treasured memories. Their door was always open to friends, missionaries, and family, with a freezer full of Schwan's ice creams waiting to be shared.
Above all, Sandra adored her grandchildren. She found pure joy in supporting and loving them, making every moment shared with them magical. From making Mickey Mouse pancakes to enveloping them in warm grandma hugs, she let each grandchild know they were loved "whole bunches." She took immense pride in their individual accomplishments and was their unwavering cheerleader.
Throughout her life, Sandra found fulfillment in her work as a social worker. Her time at the Family Crisis Center and Grover C. Dils Medical Center held cherished memories. Advocating for others brought her great joy, and she treasured the friendships and relationships formed during her time at the hospital. Sandra deeply valued her coworkers and the residents she served.
An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Sandra was sealed to her family for time and all eternity in the St. George Temple on October 25, 1986. She served faithfully in various callings within the church, including young women's, compassionate service, and nursery leader. However, her favorite calling was in Primary, where she felt the spirit strongly and believed that foundational principles were taught through the primary songs. Her testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ was solidified in that sacred space.
Sandra, known to many as a mentor, friend, and hype woman, possessed a remarkable ability to help others recognize their potential and assist them in achieving it. Her genuine care for people endeared her to all who knew her.
