Sandy made everyone feel right at home from her caring nature to her delicious home cooked meals
Sandra Kay McDowell, affectionately known as Sandy, was born on March 27, 1942, in Pattonsburg. She passed away on July 11, 2024, in San Antonio, TX, where she had made her home in recent years.
A proud graduate of Polytechnic High School in 1960, Sandra dedicated her life to caring for others as a compassionate care provider. She had a remarkable ability to make anyone feel welcome, often through her warm nature and mouthwatering home-cooked meals.
Sandy cherished spending time with her family, engaging in her favorite hobbies such as gardening, playing dominoes, shopping, and cooking. Her love for fried catfish was well-known among her loved ones, as was her enjoyment of watching "The Voice."
Sandra is survived by her three children: Shawn McDowell (Terry), Lisa Woodard (Jess), and Dawn Moore (Carlos). She was a proud grandmother to Michael Cody, Michaela Trammell (Coleton), Logan Cody, Skylee Nelson, Lexi Moore, and Lorali De Spain, and doting great-grandmother to Wesley Trammell and Blaire Cody.
She is also survived by the father of her children, Murray McDowell, and her siblings, John Weese (Sandy) and Pam Burns (Nick).
Sandra's legacy of love, warmth, and care will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
