She always enjoyed going to a concert, music festival or rave. She loved traveling the world and trying new exotic foods. She had a soft spot for animals and always enjoyed dancing
She loved nothing more than her loved ones. She had such a deep care for everyone around her and was always selfless and put her self last to the ones she cared about
She loved the beach and the water. It has always been a special spot for her, ever since she was a kid
Samantha Cristine Martinez, lovingly known as "Sam" or "Sammon, passed away peacefully from old age, in San Diego, California, at 85 years old. Born on August 29, 2004, in Los Angeles to Cristine Uribe and Leonardo Martinez, both who loved her and her little sister dearly. Samantha lived a full life defined by kindness, curiosity, and an unwavering dedication to others.
From an early age, Samantha was drawn to understanding people, their hopes, struggles and unspoken emotions. That empathy led her to pursue a career in medicine where she found not only a calling but a purpose. After earning her college degree, she became a Nurse Practitioner in the ICU. This is where she spent her life taking care of others for years and living out the dream she had since she was a little girl.
Along with all her life, Samantha got married at 25 and traveled around the world with her husband. Seeing places she thought she could only dream about. They had a happy and long 50+ years of marriage!
Samantha was smart in the ways that mattered most: in her ability to see patterns in people, in her intuition for unspoken emotions, in her constant curiosity about the world and herself. She was passionate—full of intensity and warmth—and she cared deeply even when she pretended not to. Her kindness lived in gestures, thoughtfulness and in the way she noticed small things that others overlooked. She was observant enough to see the truth in others, and loving enough to hold it gently.
To those who took the time to truly know her, Samantha was a beautiful soul—thoughtful, selfless, and far more complex than any label could capture. She learned, slowly and quietly, that she didn’t have to fit the versions of herself that other people created. She grew into her real self instead: someone meaningful, someone intentional, someone worth remembering.
Her life was not defined by perfection, but by presence—by her ability to love deeply, think deeply, and feel deeply. And in the end, that was her gift to the world: a reminder that a person is always more than what they appear to be on the surface, and that the truest version of someone is the one they carry quietly inside themselves.
Samantha leaves behind a legacy of authenticity, resilience, and a heart that loved honestly. She lived her life becoming who she always knew she was. And she leaves this world as she truly was, smart, passionate, kind, observant, loving, and full of meaning.
