In her early twenties, Ruth relocated to Ohio, where she built a beautiful life centered around family, love, and community.

Ruth was the devoted wife of her husband, John Michael Hayes. Together, they created a strong and loving foundation for their family. She was a proud and dedicated mother to eight children: Michael Hayes, Jeffrey Hayes, John Hayes Jr., Beanie Hayes, Veronica Hayes, Cathy Hayes, Creola Hayes, and Gloria Hayes.

Her greatest joy in life was her family, especially her 23 grandchildren, whom she loved deeply and unconditionally.
