It deeply saddens me to say this, but to all of my mother's family, friends, and loved ones, my mother and my best friend, Ruby Hixon, has left us to start her journey with our creator. She will now be forever with her husband, David W. Raasch Jr., and her son, David W. Raasch III. She will also be with her mother, Mrs. Eloise Martin Hixon; father, Edward Cameron Hixon; as well as her brothers, Harold Eugene Mikell and Edward Cameron Hixon; and her sister, Mary Lou Hixon Johnson.
Ruby was born at Touro Hospital in New Orleans on August 13, 1957. She lived the majority of her life in St. Bernard Parish. Ruby leaves behind her beloved daughter, Lisa Gallups; a son, Jason Raasch; three nieces, Linda Becker (husband Dieter Becker), Lynn Majors, and Monica Mikell; a nephew, Eugene Mikell; two grandsons, Cody Cruse "Favre" and Bryce Cruse "Favre"; a granddaughter, Ashlyn Kohlman; and five great-grandsons, Leium, Andrew, Jasxon, Lane, Luca, and one great-granddaughter, Alex. Many great-nieces & great-nephews.
She will be forever missed and in our thoughts and hearts. I will be having a celebration of her life at Celebration Church at 7500 W. Judge Perez in Arabi, St. Bernard Parish. The date is still unknown, but I would love for everyone to attend.
