Roy Salazar, born on September 16, 1949, in Houston, TX, passed away on July 22, 2024, in his hometown. He was a resident of Houston throughout his life.
Roy had a passion for music and could often be found listening to his favorite band, Little Joe y La Familia. He also had a deep love for his mother's cooking, savoring every bite of his favorite foods.
Sports played a significant role in Roy's life. He enjoyed watching the Houston Astros and the Texans, and football was his favorite sport. In his middle school years, Roy showcased his athletic talents on the football field, earning recognition for his remarkable performance.
When not immersed in music or sports, Roy found joy in following the TV show Blue Bloods. He had an infectious happiness that radiated from him, and his positive outlook on life was a defining characteristic.
In addition to his other interests, Roy dedicated his time to the Mason Park Mexican league team, "Los Gato's." He took on various roles within the team, from being the equipment manager and official scorer to even serving as the team mascot.
Roy Salazar will be dearly missed by his family and friends. His vibrant spirit and unwavering happiness will be remembered fondly by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. May he rest in peace.
