Ronald Barnett, affectionately known as Big Ron, passed away on July 6, 2024, at the age of 63. He was born on August 14, 1960, in Grenada, MS, and most recently resided in Jackson, MS.
Ronald loved nothing more than spending time with his family and watching Westerns on TV. He had a particular fondness for well-done steak and enjoyed listening to the Isley Brothers and anything with a good bassline. Ron was a doting father to his children Ronald Barnett Jr, Steven Barnett II, and Teesh Barnett.
Hailing from a close-knit family, Ronald is survived by his sisters Sherry Clark, Kathy Barnett, Shay Barnett, Amanda Wilson, and his brothers Ray Barnett, Ashley Williams, Jerry Barnett, and Steven Barnett. He was a proud Army veteran and had a successful career as a diesel mechanic.
Ronald's favorite place in the world was sitting on a lake with a fishing pole or attending church. He had a great sense of humor and loved watching funny shows and old cowboy movies. Basketball and football were his favorite sports.
Known for his generosity and kind heart, Ronald was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was a true man's man with a heart made of gold. His children and 17 grandchildren brought him immense joy and pride.
Ronald was married to Roxanne for 15 years and Sheila for 5 years, both of whom he deeply cared for. He cherished his role as a father and took pride in running a restaurant.
A proud member of the Church of the Nazarene in Grenada, MS, Ronald was a devout Christian who believed in Jesus. His motto in life was, "Who you with!!!"
Ronald Barnett will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his dedication to his profession, and his faith in God. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and a strong sense of community. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
