Roger's favorite hobbies

Roger was an avid tennis player when he lived in Connecticut. He played on Alta teams singles as well as doubles. His wife Susan was hi favorite doubles partner. He also taught 3 of his 4 children to snow ski. They would travel up to Massachusetts and ski when the kids were younger. Roger also loved a great adventure. Weekends driving up to Vermont and New Hampshire exploring and hiking. Many wonderful memories were created with all of his children and his wife on these trips.

Roger's favorite foods

Roger did love to eat. There were not very many foods he would turn down. He began to cook when the kids were older and Susan was working. He created some interesting meals for sure.

Favorite bands and musical artists

Roger enjoyed music of many kinds. He was a trumpet player in his youth and also knew his way around the harmonica. He had a beautiful baritone voice and could be heard over the crown singing in church or Christmas carols at one of his children’s school programs.

Interesting facts about Roger

Roger had a brilliant mind to be sure. He was an engineer and worked at Boing in his early career then worked at Pratt and Whitney, which became United Technologies. He was a huge part of the fuel cell division which created the fuel cells for the Apollo crafts. After retiring from United Techologies he began to consult. He continued to aid in research and development of many systems, in multiple companies over those years.

Roger loved nothing more than

Some of Roger’s favorite times were spent with his growing family at the beach. Each summer they would travel down south to Myrtle beach and then to Panama City beach to meet with his kids and their families. He also enjoyed long walks around the lake near their home in Tolland. His best friend Lee had a boat and they often went of long boat rides with their wives and sometimes children.

His favorite sports were tennis and he absolutely loved to watch girls college basketball. He also coached his daughter for a couple of years when she was younger.
