It is with great sadness, that we announce the passing of our beloved Roger Dale Fontenot of Lake Arthur. He was born on January 11, 1947, in Kinder, Louisiana, to Wilfred and Anna Mae Fontenot. A veteran of the U.S. Army, Roger proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. He attended LaGrange High School and Sowela Technical Institute. Roger retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 2003 as a lock operator at the Calcasieu Locks.

He is survived by his loving wife, Kim Broussard Fontenot of Lake Arthur and his children: Anthony Fontenot, Angela Fontenot, Melissa Fontenot, Benjamin Fontenot, Mandi (Brent) Jones and Craig (Heather) Vincent.

Roger was grandfather to Amber, Rebecca, Cody, Destiney, Cameron, Tristan, Alayna, Audrey and Alex. He is also survived by a host of great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

He is remembered by his siblings Patricia Abshire, Eva (James) Dupuy, and Mark (Pat) Fontenot, and was preceded in death by his brother Larry Fontenot, as well as his parents and first wife, Edna Sybil Marcantel Fontenot.
