Todavía no se han plantado árboles.
He was known as a kind soul, with a huge servant’s heart. He loved Jesus and others fiercely and will be missed dearly.
Rocky was born on January 29,1960 to Howard and Loretta Williams in Artesia, California. He grew up with his two sisters, Robin and Kimberly Jo, in Terre Haute, Indiana. As a young child he enjoyed attending Sugar Creek Baptist Church, where he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior; playing sports; and according to his sisters, “avoiding chores.” After he graduated from North Terre Haute High School, where he earned the Timothy M. Sullivan award honoring students who excel in athletics and scholarship, he spent a semester at Purdue University, but eventually found his way to Baylor University earning a degree in Business Administration.
In the Spring of 1990, Rocky met Stacy Lynn Young at Meadowbrook Baptist Church in Robinson, Texas. They married in Dallas, Texas on December 14, 1991, and went on to have three amazing children, Elizabeth Grace, Jordan Scott, and Jonathan Davis Williams.
Rocky loved serving his church family, friends, work family, and community. For nearly 30 years, Rocky was a member of First Baptist Church of Hurst. He served as a greeter, a deacon, a choir member, a communion assistant, and over the years, a Connection Class teacher in the children’s, youth, college and adult departments. At First Hurst, he developed deep friendships, and is considered a friend who loves closer than a brother. During his life, Rocky worked for various companies, serving as a loyal and gracious leader, and providing his knack for business logistics. He genuinely loved his present work family as VP of Account Management at Promus Diagnostics. Additionally, he volunteered much of his time serving in different positions across the Mid-Cities community. Whether it be as a t-ball, baseball, or volleyball coach, a Night of Hope volunteer, or a handyman with his endless box of tools, Rocky led a life of service which truly exemplified the fruits of the spirit.
Rocky was predeceased by his father, Howard Williams, his grandparents, Ore and Maxine Williams, and Jewel Kennedy. He is survived by his beloved wife and children, Stacy, Elizabeth, Jordan, and Jonathan; his mother, Loretta Williams; sister and brother-in-law, Robin and Alan Theobald; sister, Kimberly Jo Mitchell; in-laws, LaDale and Carol Ann Young; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Scott and Lisa Young; plus many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews, who he loved dearly.
First Baptist Church of Hurst, located at 1801 Norwood Dr., Hurst, TX, 76054, will host both the visitation and the celebration service. Visitation is from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 4 in the Youth Center. The service will be Saturday, May 6 at 10:00 a.m. in the Worship Center.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Children’s Camp fund, or the C2 fund at First Baptist Church of Hurst. Both are ministries which impacted the life of Rocky and Stacy’s children greatly. Additionally, a family friend created a GoFundMe account to assist with tuition and student loans.
