Robert Lenn Thomas Sr., born on December 24, 1963, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, passed away on April 25, 2025. He was the beloved son of belated Mayola Thomas
Robert was a proud alumnus of Washington- Marion Magnet High school, graduating with the class of 1984. He was known for his athleticism, excelling in football, track, and basketball, which earned him the nickname "240." Beyond his accomplishments in sports, Robert was a man with a big heart. He was always there for his loved ones, offering support—even if it came with a dose of tough love or a lecture.
For over 30 years, Robert dedicated himself to his work as a night shift manager at Walmart, demonstrating remarkable resilience by continuing to work even when facing significant health challenges, with his heart functioning at only 10%. His work ethic was a testament to his character and dedication to his family.
Robert cherished his role as a father and grandfather. He is survived by his only wife, Tijuana Scott; his three children, Quindessa, Robert Jr., and Miracle Thomas; and his grandchildren, Alyza Sherman, Layla, and Azalea Daney. He also leaves behind his sister, Sally Buffington; his sister, Mary Thomas; and his brother, Willie (Pam) Lee Thomas
In the words of Thomas Campbell, “To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die.” Robert will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
A memorial service will be held to honor Robert’s life and legacy. Details will be shared with family and friends.
