Robert Earl Lewis, born on December 13, 1952, in Elizabeth City, NC, passed away on September 14, 2024, in Wilson, NC. Known affectionately as "Rob," he was a devoted husband to Brenda Lewis and a proud father to five children: daughter Terkia Frederick (James) and four sons, Robert L. Lewis, Kirby James, Kevin Shannon, and Edward Garrett.
Rob was a United States Army veteran who cherished his service to his country. He loved nothing more than spending time with his family, which included his beloved sister Jacqueline (Leon), and his nine brothers: James (Elaine), George (Sandra), Jerry (Michelle), Roger (Michelle), Joseph (Victoria), Sherrod (Angela), William, Alvin, and Freddie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Earl Lewis and Elizabeth Brothers Lewis, as well as his sister Linda Freeman (Jimmy).
An avid fan of football, Rob proudly supported the Washington Redskins. He enjoyed playing pool and tearing up the dance floor, often with a fast food meal in hand, relishing anything hot, fried, and greasy. Rob leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories for his grandchildren, Javaris Frederick, Jasmine Frederick, Sarah Frederick, Khalil James, Daniel James, Saiah James, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. His spirit will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
