Robert Dean Bowen, known to friends and family as Bob, peacefully passed away on July 13, 2024, at the age of 71. He was born on February 8, 1953, at St. Francis Hospital in Peoria, IL. Bob resided in Hollister, MO, at the time of his death.
Bob dedicated many years of his life to his profession as a BNSF Foreman for 35 years, leaving a lasting impact on his colleagues and the company. However, his proudest accomplishments were his twin daughters, Erin & Will Ahearn in Humble, TX and Amber with her partner Matt Foley in Troy, IL, who brought immense joy and pride to his life - along with his grandchildren Mason McKinney, Aubrey Ahearn, Brodie De Bleyzer, and Liam Ahearn.
Survived by his partner Evelyn Krug for the remaining years of his life. Sadly, Bob was predeceased by his parents, Tom & Norma Bowen, as well as his sister, Bonnie Gossage-Vore and nephew, Joey Gossage.
In addition to his partner, Bob is survived by his brother David & Ellen Bowen of Fairfield, Iowa. He leaves behind nieces Davina & Seth Monson of Polk City, Iowa, and Sarah & Paul Otto of Aurora, Colorado, along with their children.
Known for his ability to strike up conversations with anyone, Bob had a warm and engaging personality. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to his family and friends.
Outside of work, Bob was actively involved in his community. He served as the President of BNSF in Macomb, IL, and was a member of the American Legion in the same city. Bob found great joy in his hobbies, which included riding his Harley motorcycle, attending car shows and boating, antiquing, and passionately rooting for the Chicago Cubs. He later became a loyal fan of the Kansas City Chiefs.
A Christian by faith, Bob found solace and strength in his spirituality throughout his life.
Bob will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family and friends will be remembered fondly. May he rest in eternal peace.
