As a child-In the 80s Cats eye, No retreat, No Surrender, Over the top
Ability to make, as he put it "more money than the fucking president" at times.
Robert Anthony Delgado (1980 – 2025), also known as Rob, Cheeto, or Hoff, left us with a presence that could never be replicated—a blazing comet that lit up every room, challenge, and treasure hunt he encountered. As a Precious Metal Connoisseur, Robert’s expertise wasn’t merely in the gleam of metals but in the rich tapestry of experiences, wild adventures, and relentless quests for truth he pursued with unyielding passion.
Robert lived by his own rules. “Be you and be real. Fuck what everyone thinks,” wasn’t just spoken words—it was a battle cry that defined his every step. Whether he was giving generously, strumming songs on his latest guitar, outsmarting every challenge thrown his way, or even being unapologetically self-assured in his notorious brand of narcissistic charm, he never hesitated to be exactly who he was. His proudest accomplishments ranged from his intense willingness to share both wisdom and occasional wealth, to his legendary status as the biggest, most brilliant asshole narcissist anyone ever met.
In his personal life, Robert was never one to hide his heart. His relationships with Lydia and close friends were testaments to the beauty of finding people who could appreciate his blunt honesty and raw spirit. Though he did not have children, his legacy lives on in a vast and vibrant family who were touched by his honesty, dishonesty, and his unfiltered, genuine love for loved ones and truth. He is survived by 2 moms, Jacque and Aunt Cindy; his sisters, Shri and Brianna; his brothers, Marcus and Jaymes; and his Aunt Lisa. His beloved nieces—Victoria, Chloe, Amada, Olivia, and Mellody—his cherished nephews—Joseph, Terrance, Conrad, Kyrie, Cole,Remi,Oliver, Darius, and Jeremiah—and his cousins—Schon, Brian, Christian, Aubrey, and Marisa.
Robert was a man of defining contradictions. His blunt, brutally honest manner could cut through pretense, yet his heart was vast enough to leave an indelible mark on everyone he met. Whether hosting a treasure hunt that challenged the wits of his peers or chasing his dreams with an almost reckless determination, he impacted lives with his generosity, his fierce individuality, and a relentless drive to uncover truth. As a hard-core atheist determined in his quest for veracity, he stood as a beacon for those who dared to challenge the status quo.
His contributions extended into the community through his unexpected passions: from championing recycling efforts and hunting for riches in both the literal and metaphorical sense, mastering guitar by ear, to achieving elite status at the Isleta casino in less than a month. Each of these endeavors reflected a man who was not only unafraid to take risks but also committed to leaving a legacy of authenticity and boldness.
Robert’s journey was punctuated by profound loss—preceded in death by all three grandmothers, three grandfathers, his father, a brother, and an uncle—but he carried these sorrows as a solemn reminder of life’s fleeting nature and the precious value of every moment.
In remembering Robert Anthony Delgado, we celebrate a life lived on his own extraordinary terms—a life that challenged norms, sparked laughter, and often provoked a mixture of admiration and exasperation. His memory will continue to inspire those who dare to be true to themselves, even in the face of life’s many contradictions. Rest in peace, Robert, your legend endures in every honest, unfiltered moment we live.
We'll plant real trees for you in Robert's memory and display your contribution forever.
