Rita Martin, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, cousin, aunt, and friend, passed away on March 30, 2024, at the age of 80. She was born on September 25, 1943, in Louisville, KY, and most recently resided in Seminole, FL.

Rita had a zest for life and enjoyed various hobbies. She loved diving into the pages of a good book, singing her heart out, and basking in the sun at the beach. Rita's sweet tooth always led her to indulge in her favorite food, chocolate. She had a deep appreciation for music from the 60's, with Michael Bublé and Josh Groban holding a special place in her heart.

Family meant everything to Rita, and spending quality time with them brought her unparalleled joy. Her great granddaughter, Violet, held a special place in her heart. Rita cherished every moment spent at home with her loved ones. She adored watching any version of CSI on TV and was an avid fan of college football, particularly enjoying attending USF Bulls games.

Rita possessed a superpower of maintaining a positive attitude, never forgetting her roots, and lending a helping hand to those in need. Her caring and compassionate nature were exemplified through her 40-year career as a registered nurse. Rita rooted for the underdog and always stood up for what she believed in.

She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Bruce, and her son Randy (Wife Brandi). Rita's grandchildren, Lindsey (Husband Brandon) and Connor, and her great granddaughter Violet meant the world to her. She had a close bond with her sisters, Sharon Hoover of Fredericksburg, Virginia, and the late Edna Hensley and Barbara Frick.

Rita had a love for travel, and one of her cherished adventures took her to Ireland. The soothing melody of a piano always brought her comfort and joy. She attended Shawnee High School and pursued her education at Kentucky Baptist Hospital School of Nursing and College of Saint Francis.

Throughout her life, Rita's favorite color was any shade of pink, reflecting her vibrant and compassionate personality. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, but her legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
