Rita was an orphan when she was born in Osaka. She was a war baby. Her biological dad came to get her when she was 6 yrs old from the orphanage she had been raised since birth. Robert Johnson then adopted his own daughter and brought her home to America. I'm ever so grateful !

Rita Marie Johnson, born on April 21, 1949 in Osaka, Japan, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2024 in Denver, Colorado. Rita, also affectionately known as Tami and Gigi, was a remarkable individual who faced life's challenges with grace.
As an orphan in post-war Osaka, Rita was reunited with her biological father, Robert Johnson, at the age of six, who then adopted her and brought her to America. This marked the beginning of a new chapter in her life, one filled with love and adventure. Rita graduated from East High School in Denver and worked as a switchboard operator, where her friendly demeanor and dedication shone brightly.
Rita had a passion for music and dancing. She cherished old-school tunes and often found solace in the melodies of artists like Norah Jones. A lover of good food, she delighted in pho, BBQ, and virtually any dish that brought people together. Her warm spirit was best expressed during moments spent with friends, whether enjoying a spliff at Sloan's Lake or catching up over her favorite TV shows, including CBS Morning News NCIS and Matlock.
Rita's life was filled with simple pleasures, and her proudest accomplishment was driving her beloved Jetta. She embraced life with a sense of humor and a collection of sayings that reflected her spirited personality, with phrases like "Enough said!" and "You reckon? Huh!" becoming part of her legacy.
Though Rita had no known living relatives, her vibrant presence and love for life touched the hearts of many. In accordance with her wishes, there will be no service. Rita requested cremation, and her ashes will be taken to the beautiful Red Rocks, a place she loved.
Rita Marie Johnson will be remembered for her love of life, and her unwavering spirit.
