She loved her emotional support dog OREO. Rissa loved to bake especially during the holidays. Her fresh baked Pan de Polvo Cookies, fudge, brownied, candied nuts and cakes were the best. Rissa also spent her days giving Oreo treats as well herself while watching all the crime shows albeit being reruns.
She loved all foods and was willing to try anything within reason. Her favorite was a Fried Shrimp Dinner. She was known to beg to find a seafood restaurant in late Sunday nights. Of course, complied to make beautiful Rissa happy.
Garth Brooks, Journey and other 80's bands were on her playlist.
Rissa always had a happy disposition and always wore a smile. Although Rissa was disabled at the age of 25 due brain surgery, she never complained nor let her disabilities stand in her way of tackling daily tasks. She loved all her cousins to the moon and back, especially Romy Nava, J'ton Nava Odom and Brenda Polanco and all her aunts to include Aunt Doris Krinsky of Long Island NY, Aunt Rosie Peres, Tia Emma Nava, Aunt Yolanda, Aunt Nelda and Aunt Norma. Rissa never failed to say I Love You to them. Minutes before her dimise, she turned to her momma and let her parched lips touch her forehead and barely mustered a whisper I Love You. Rissa was very tired and ready to see Grandpa and Grandma Honey Nava, Uncle Anthony Peres, Uncle Hector Nava and wife Frances and their son Baby Hector Nava. I am sure Rissa Krinsky Rendon is keeping them laughing.
Rissa loved visting Rockport and eating all the delicious home cooked meals. She even tried making a big pot of menudo without knowing how heavy the pot was, or that a bigger pot would be needed. When she tried to transfer to a larger pot, she fell and down came all the menudo on top of her. Of course momma came to the rescue with a promise not to tell anyone...until now.
On Rissa's bucket list was to visit Disneyland, wear a bikini again and have a BigAss 50th birthday Bash. Her aunts and cousins made that party come to fruitation. She purchased the bikini, tried it on and even took it to Rockport in hopes to wear it and lay out in cousin Junie/MaryAnn pool. Unfortunately Rissa was too weak to go but she never let her smile falter. She graced her presence for 8 beautiful more weeks. She will be missed.
She would say when it was her yen, "Just Putting It Out There", or when she was tired of a conversation, Please Turn The Page" or "Please Close That Book"...
Rissa Laine Krinsky-Rendon, born on July 9, 1974, in Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas. Known for her infectious smile and joyful spirit, Rissa touched the lives of all who knew her.
A beloved daughter, mother, sister, and friend, Rissa was a personal banker at Frost Bank and often brought her unique warmth to her workplace. She was a devoted pet owner, finding great joy in spending time with her emotional support dog, Oreo, whom she adored.
Rissa had a passion for baking, especially during the holidays. Her fresh-baked Pan de Polvo cookies, fudge, brownies, candied nuts, and cakes were legendary among family and friends. She also loved trying new foods, with a particular fondness for fried shrimp dinners, often requesting late-night seafood outings.
Her musical tastes reflected her vibrant personality, as she enjoyed the sounds of Garth Brooks, Journey, and other 80’s bands. Rissa found comfort in watching crime show reruns, often sharing her snacks with Oreo as they settled in for the evening.
Despite facing challenges from a brain surgery at the age of 25, Rissa never let her disabilities define her. She maintained a positive outlook and a cheerful disposition, always reminding her loved ones of her affection with a heartfelt "I love you." She cherished her close-knit family, including her mother, Rosa Nava Krinsky; her son, Dennis Rendon and his wife, Frances; her brother, Randy Krinsky; and her many aunts, uncles, and cousins, especially Romy Nava, J'ton Nava Odom, and Brenda Polanco.
Rissa had dreams of visiting Disneyland, wearing a bikini again, and celebrating a big 50th birthday bash. With her family’s support, she was able to fulfill her birthday wishes, even though illness prevented her from fully enjoying all her plans. Rissa had a knack for turning ordinary moments into cherished memories, as illustrated by her humorous attempt to make menudo, which ended with a kitchen mishap that her mother promised to keep secret—until now.
Rissa will be remembered for her loving spirit and unwavering strength. Just minutes before her passing, she whispered to her mother, “I love you,” a testament to her enduring love and connection to her family. As she reunites with her beloved Grandpa and Grandma Honey Nava, Uncle Anthony Peres, Uncle Hector Nava, and Baby Hector Nava, her laughter will continue to echo in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
Rissa Laine Krinsky-Rendon will be dearly missed by her family and friends, but her memory will forever live on in the joy she spread and the love she shared.
