Obituary

Richard L. “Ricky” Graham, age 37 of Muncie, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2024 at I.U. Health / Methodist Hosptial in Indianapolis after dealing with mental illness.  Ricky was a man of extraordinary character, boundless humor, and immense love.  He was born Jan. 8, 1987 in Marion, the son of John Graham and Anna Louise Graham. Ricky’s life was a testament to resilience, joy, and the enduring power of kindness.  He was a proud alumnus of Madison-Grant Jr./Sr. High School in Fairmount where he graduated in 2005.

With his joyous nature, he always managed to light up any room he entered, and his infectious personality resonated with everyone who knew him.  Ricky was a devoted fan of Svengoolie and NASCAR as well as the simple joys of life, including fishing and spending precious time with his fiancé and family.  Yet, Ricky’s greatest accomplishment, the one he held most dear, was being an uncle.

Ricky was a man who loved to share his wisdom and tips on collecting things with his great-nephew.  His persistence for overcoming hard obstacles in life profoundly influenced and shaped the lives of many people.  His causes were simple; Ricky believed in the power of family and the importance of nurturing bonds with his nieces and nephews.  He was a rock to many, a beacon of light in their times of darkness.

Described best as a happy-go-lucky, warm, funny, jokester who was deeply caring and loving, Ricky’s legacy will forever be one of kindness and generosity.  His passing is a reminder that while life may be fleeting, the love we share and the memories we make endure.  As we mourn Ricky’s passing, we also celebrate his life, his spirit, and the immeasurable love he gave.  He will be truly missed by his loved ones, but his spirit will forever live on in their hearts.

Ricky’s family includes his father, John Graham (companion Melanie) of Marion; fiance’, Summer Cunningham and her son, David both of Muncie; loving sister, Natalie (Marvin) Arnes of Quincy; Loving half brother, Nakye Graham, special nieces, Ashlie (Parker) Rankin and Marlie Demaree; special great-nephews, Bradley and Theo; special great niece, Ada; and a host of more nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.  Everyone drew immense strength from his heartwarming presence.

Cremation will take place and a private celebration of Ricky’s life will take place on Tuesday June 26th  Arrangements have been entrusted to Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood.  Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.copherfeslermay.com.
