Ricky Allen Riley, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on July 17, 2024, at the age of 58. He was born on July 27, 1965, in Muncie, Indiana, and was a resident of Middletown, Indiana.
Ricky had a zest for life and enjoyed spending time with his family above all else. He cherished his role as a grandfather, lovingly known as "papaw," and adored his grandbabies. Ricky's favorite hobbies included racing, working on cars, and shooting at gun clubs. He was an avid fan of NASCAR, with Jeff Gordon being his favorite driver, and he also had a passion for football.
Professionally, Ricky was an accomplished auto mechanic and building restoration expert. However, his proudest achievement was his 34-year-long service as a volunteer firefighter for the Middletown Fire Department. Ricky was dedicated to protecting his community and had a strong sense of civic duty. He also served as the president of the Middletown Conservation Club.
Ricky is survived by his loving wife, Angela Riley, with whom he shared 32 years of happiness. He leaves behind his children, Samara White(Jesse), Jayme Peoples(Darnell), and Cody Riley(Macie), and daughter in law Stacy Riley as well as his adored grandchildren, Ethan, Tara, Jerran, Jeramya, Bayli, Aliyah, Zay, Victoria, and Carson. Ricky's mother, Betty Riley, sister, Elaine Zambos(Tim), Sister in laws Tina Miller(Ray) and Brenda White, Brother in Law David Miller and Mother in Law Kay Miler also mourn his loss.
He was preceded in death by his father Thomas "Ed" Riley, Grandma Wilma Riley, Uncle James Riley, nephew Shane Thompson and niece Amy Morris
Ricky will be remembered as a great man who lived life to the fullest and always extended a helping hand to those in need. His legacy as a dedicated firefighter and his passion for his family and community will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, monetary donations are welcome to be made to Legacy Cremation and Funeral Services.
