Richard was a beloved father and grandfather, known for his adventurous spirit and love for his family. He is survived by his daughter Brooke Lumbra and son Jesse Hazzard, as well as six cherished grandchildren: Ella Hazzard, Cheyenne MacDonald, Cassian Macalester, Oliver Macalester, Luka Lumbra, and Lyla Lumbra.
Richard had a passion for camping and enjoyed spending time at his favorite winery. He found great joy in sharing pizza with loved ones and often filled the air with the harmonious sounds of Simon and Garfunkel and the Bee Gees. His property in Laughlin held a special place in his heart, serving as a personal retreat where he could connect with nature.
Known for his stubbornness, Richard lived life to the fullest and embraced every moment. He often said, "It's easier to ask forgiveness than it is to get permission," which reflected his bold approach to life. He was deeply loved by those around him, including his brother Robert Hazzard and sisters Debrah Schaefer, Diane Reid, and Karen Turbish.
