Richard "Redneck" Wheeler, born October 12, 1970, in Fort Riley, Kansas, passed away on January 20, 2025, in Pawnee City, Nebraska. He was the first grandchild to Margaret Samas (Ruby) and Joe Shewey. He was the beloved son of the late Mary Phelps (Shewey) and Richard Wheeler.

Richard is survived by his three children: Samantha Steckly, Austin Wheeler, and Tyson Vomacka. He was a proud grandfather to Keira Birdsley, Dominic Steckly, Aurora Birdsley, Harley Steckly, and Harper Steckly. He is also remembered by his sisters Sally Chancellor (Wheeler) and Margaret Reynolds (Wheeler).

He was preceded in death by his grandparents,parents; his aunts Vicky Rippeto-Guhde and Brenda Neumeister (Shewey); and his uncle Daniel Lang.

Richard had a deep love for fishing and could often be found with a fishing pole in hand, enjoying the outdoors alongside his favorite cousin Misty. His passion for life and the joy he brought to those who truly knew him will be deeply missed.
