Richard Martinez

September 9, 1951 – August 3, 2025 

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Richard Martinez on August 2, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on September 9, 1951, in Pueblo, Colorado, to the late Margaret and Ben Martinez, he later made Denver his home, where he built a life filled with hard work, love, and adventure.

A lifelong general contractor and business owner, Richard poured his skill, dedication, and heart into every project he touched. Beyond his professional life, he gave generously of his time and talents as a devoted volunteer with Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado, where he also served on the Board of Directors.

He is survived by his wife, his two daughters, family, many dear friends, and his cherished cats, who were constant companions and brought him great joy.

Richard lived life to the fullest — with a one-of-a-kind personality, quick wit, and a deep appreciation for the beauty of the outdoors. His presence filled a room, his laughter was contagious, and his adventurous spirit inspired those around him.

In lieu of flowers or condolences, donations may be made to Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado in his memory. 

A Celebration of Life will be held on September 9, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Walsh Park, where family and friends will gather to share stories and honor his legacy.
