Richard Main Harnack Jr was born on September 8, 1954 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and passed away on September 18, 2024. Rich led a fulfilling life, marked by his dedication to family, community, and his country as a honored veteran of the United States Navy. His seven years of service led to his career as an Electronic Communication Technician.
He was often found on the water due to his love of boating and fishing, embracing the serenity it brought him. He shared many memorable moments with family and friends in these pursuits.
Rich is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia Harnack (Aulwes), and their children: Elaine (Jerry) Harvey, Jessean (Mike) Sutton, and Chris Aulwes. He was a proud grandfather to Riley, Skylar, and Ben Harvey; Tim (Alexis) Jacobs; Evie and Josh Sutton; Gerik and Dean Garcia; Kayce and Flower Aulwes; and great-grandfather to Charlotte Jacobs and Mason Zaragoza. He is survived by his brother, Don (Pam) Harnack, and sister, Sherry Harnack.
A non-denominational Christian, Rich's faith was a cornerstone of his life, guiding his interactions with others. He was known for his infectious sense of humor, often asking, "Are we having fun yet?" His ability to make people laugh and his willingness to lend a helping hand left a lasting impact on those around him.
Rich contributed to his community through his involvement in organizations such as the American Legion and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. His legacy of love and service will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
