Earned an Associates of Arts degree in June 1953 and a B.S. in Business Administration in June 1957
Enlisted in the U.S. Army in September 1955 and received an honorable discharge in 1955, awarded the National Defense Service and Good Conduct Medals
Graduated from Nebraska School of Law in 1960, became an associate with Stinson, Mag, Thomson, McEvers & Fizzell, Attorneys at Law, specializing in Municipal Finance and becoming a partner in 1965. Joined Gilmore & Bell, PC, Of Counsel in April 1991, retiring in December 1997
Worked on a wide variety of municipal finance transactions for cities, counties, school districts, and other public projects. Played a role in financing the Truman Sports Complex
Enjoyed sports, jogging, running in Kansas City's 5 Ks and 10 Ks, playing tennis and basketball. Loyal Royals, Chiefs, Nebraska, and Mizzou fan. Enjoyed traveling to various locations
Survived by his wife, Lucinda; son: Arthur Rice Petrie, M.D.; daughter, Anna Lucinda Kitchen; and six grandsons
Believed in the mission statement of The Delta Gamma Lectureship in Values and Ethics, University of Missouri, and requested donations to be made to the Lectureship in his memory
