Obituario

Richard "Sandy" Cossette, born on January 26, 1940, in Los Angeles County, California, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2024, in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. A dedicated family man and proud U.S. Navy veteran who served from 1957 to 1961, Richard was known for his warm heart and infectious spirit.

Richard spent his professional life in the roofing business, where he earned the respect of his colleagues and clients alike. He found joy in simple pleasures, often seen tinkering in his garage or sharing laughter with his daughters, grandchildren, and friends. His favorite moments were spent around the BBQ, enjoying good food and the company of loved ones, always accompanied by the cheerful tunes of the Jive Bunnys.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Bonnie Jean McDowell, and their three daughters: Renee (married to Ted Villelli), Colette (married to Brian Bradner), and Nicole (married to Dan Kuch). Richard cherished his role as a father and later as a grandfather, taking great pride in his grandchildren: Paul and Jill Villelli; Briana and Jeff Bradner; and Evan and Emerson Kuch. He was especially pleased to welcome great-grandchildren into the family.

Richard leaves behind his sister, Carole Riggin, and a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. He often reminded his family with his favorite saying, "This too shall pass," a testament to his optimistic outlook on life. Richard's favorite place in the world was anywhere his family gathered with laughter around him, and he will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
