He loved hiking in the good outdoors, spoiling his family, he loved camping, he was great with everyone around him and made everyone around him feel heard and loved. He had a huge passion serving the Lord and others.
He was on scholarship in music but majored in business. He had his own band in high school and college. He played at the 49s game during college. Due to a very rare health condition which caused kidney failure his daughter (Heidi) best friend Jan Fausett donated her kidney and saved his life. From high school on, he was a fabulous bugler player so much so that he was hired to play for military funerals. He graduated from Boise State University during those 4 years he was able to experience the college growth from a little junior college all the up to a university.

He loved his Cabin home in Timberlakes, Heber Utah. He also loved living in Honolulu Hawaii that came with a beautiful culture and environment of the Polynesian people.
After graduation he worked for the Idaho First national Bank in Soda Springs Idaho, after which he was a professional for the Boy Scouts of America serving many councils throughout the USA as Scout Executive. He worked at the national head quarters of the Boy Scouts of America as the National director of the Boy Scout division.

Married to the love of his life Julia Reed Falkner. Date Married- August 18th 1967 Married in the first church ever built in Boise Idaho. August 17th 1968 Rees and Julia Falkner were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple for all eternity They just celebrated their 57th year of marriage through those years they had many adventures traveling the world.
Traveling through the years brought many new adventures and friendships. But what was most important was enjoying many adventures with family, creating memories at the cabin, playing games, singing songs and so much more that made life worth while.
Julia Falkner (Spouse), Tamra Sue Falkner (Dean) Casutt, Heidi Marie Falkner (Steve) Gurney, Ryan Craig Falkner, Angela Lynne Falkner (Joshua) New, and their families mourn the loss of their beloved Rees Alan Falkner, who passed away on September 16, 2024, at the age of 77. Born on August 2, 1947, in Salt Lake City, Utah, Rees spent his most recent years in Spanish Fork, Utah.
Rees was a man of many passions. He found joy in the great outdoors, relishing hiking and camping, and loved nothing more than spending time at his cabin in Timberlakes, Heber, Utah. An accomplished musician, he was on a scholarship in music while majoring in business at Boise State University, where he graduated during a time of significant growth for the institution. He once played at a 49ers game and was known for his exceptional bugling skills, often performing at military funerals.
Rees had a profound impact on those around him, known for his unwavering unconditional love, humor, and generosity. He dedicated his life to serving others, holding various leadership roles in the Boy Scouts of America, where he served as Scout Executive and the National Director of the Boy Scout Division.
Rees's love for family was evident in everything he did. He was married to Julia Reed Falkner, the love of his life, for 57 remarkable years, during which they traveled the world and created lifelong memories with their children: Stephanie, Tamara Sue (Dean) Casutt, Heidi Marie (Steve) Gurney, Ryan Scott, and Angela Lynne (Joshua) New. He was a dedicated grandfather to 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
A true family man, he made everyone feel heard and loved, and his legacy of kindness and compassion will live on through those he touched. He served many positions in the LDS Church, embodying the values of faith and community service throughout his life.
Rees Alan Falkner will be remembered for his warm smile, strong spirit, and the endless adventures he cherished with his loved ones. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable moments.
