Ray Anthony Cunningham, affectionately known as Suga Ray, passed away on January 18, 2025, at the age of 70. Born on December 8, 1954, in Philadelphia, PA, Ray lived his entire life in his beloved city.

Ray dedicated a significant part of his career to the Philadelphia School Board, where he made a lasting impact on the community and the lives of many students. His commitment to education and service was a testament to his character and passion for helping others.

Ray is survived by his children: Ray Cunningham Jr., Dawn Brown-Cornilius,Renee Cunningham and Kelsey McBride. He was a proud grandfather and cherished grandfather to Donte Keaton, Ebony McCain, Destiny McCain Amaree Kirkland Of Lancaster SC, Ray Cunningham III, Jayden McBride, and Kyrese Cunningham of Philadelphia Pa.. He also leaves behind six great-grandchildren who will carry on his legacy.

In addition to his children and grandchildren, Ray is survived by his siblings, Shawn Cunningham and Frankie Braxton of Delaware. He will be remembered for his warmth, kindness, and the love he shared with his family and friends.

Ray Anthony Cunningham's life was one of dedication, love, and service, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
