Obituary

Ralph (Buddy) Bowman

October 12, 1956 - June 30, 2024

Ralph (Buddy) Bowman, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2024, in Washington D.C., DC, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 12, 1956, in Danville, VA, to proud parents who cherished him dearly.

Ralph, also known as Buddy, was a Metro Bus Driver by profession, dedicating his days to serving his community. He took great pride in his work and always had a warm smile for the passengers he encountered.

In his free time, Ralph found solace in his favorite hobbies of fishing and horseshoe. He cherished those moments spent by the water, casting his line, and enjoying the tranquility of nature. Ralph's fun-loving personality and infectious laughter made every fishing trip a memorable experience.

Ralph was the loving husband of Lorraine McIntosh, his partner in life's journey. Together, they raised five beautiful children: Carlita, Daniesha, Aijua, Kyreshia, and Demar. Ralph was a devoted father, always offering guidance and support to not only his own children but also to anyone who needed a father figure in their lives.

Ralph's zest for life and his calming presence made him the life and light in every room he entered. He had a way of making everyone feel at ease with his easygoing nature and kind-hearted spirit. Ralph's favorite motto, "I'm old, not cold," encapsulated his positive outlook on life and his ability to bring joy to those around him.

As a Christian, Ralph held strong to his faith, finding comfort and strength in his spiritual beliefs. His love and compassion extended to all, and he touched the lives of many through his sincerity and selflessness.

Ralph leaves behind a beautiful legacy, including precious memories shared with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His children, Carlita, Daniesha, Aijua, Kyreshia, and Demar, will forever cherish the love and guidance their father bestowed upon them. His grandchildren, Demar Williams, Delanjewl Brooks, and Darren Brooks, were blessed to have such a loving grandfather, and his great-grandchildren, Chase Williams and Ahara Williams, will grow up knowing the impact their great-grandfather had on their family.

Ralph (Buddy) Bowman will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His memory will forever live in the hearts of his loved ones, and his spirit will continue to guide them through life's journey. Rest in peace, Buddy.
