Pierre Richard Madrid, known affectionately as Rich, was born on March 11, 1953, in Denver, Colorado. He passed away on January 24, 2025, in Helena, Montana, where he had made his home in recent years.

Rich was a beloved father to his three children: Zachary Robinson (Belle), Justine Frawley (Dave), and Caitlyn Madrid, and six grandchildren: Richard Robinson, Reif Madrid, Maci Shaffer, Kolt Shaffer, Coral Rapozo and Kapa Rapozo. He took immense pride in helping raise his oldest grandchildren, Reif Madrid and Richard Robinson, and was known for his joyful afternoons barbecuing with his son and grandson. He shared a special bond with his brother David, as they shared their birthday.

Throughout his life, Rich enjoyed a variety of hobbies that reflected his love for the outdoors. He spent many happy hours fishing, hunting, and watching his favorite sports: American football and soccer. His passion for fishing and hunting was mirrored in his favorite television programs. Rich had a unique talent in landscape design, and he held a contractor's license for landscaping and concrete. He also worked as a meat cutter in his father’s butcher shop and drove trucks for a living, showcasing his versatility and strong work ethic.

Rich was a man of many interests, relishing delicious meals such as fideo, hamburgers, and cioppino. He found joy in the music of Three Dog Night and Creedence Clearwater Revival, often reminiscing about simpler times with family and friends. His love for the outdoors was evident in his favorite place—his outdoor patio, where he thrived in the company of loved ones.

An active member of his community, Rich served as a youth soccer coach and was a longtime member of the Teamsters Union. He was known for his generous spirit, often assisting elderly neighbors with various tasks, embodying the principle of helping those in need. Rich's quick wit was often accompanied by his favorite saying, "the bottom line is…," a phrase that reflected his straightforward approach to life.

He is survived by his brothers John and David Madrid, his sister Kristine Barbosa, and a loving family that will always cherish his memory. Rich was preceded in death by his father, John Adolf Madrid, and his mother, Sadie Prado Madrid.

Rich's legacy is one of love, laughter, and a deep commitment to family and community. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
