Phillip Russel Morgan, affectionately known as "Flip," was born on January 17, 1983, in Houston, Texas. He passed away peacefully on August 25, 2024, in his beloved hometown, where he spent much of his life surrounded by friends and family.
Phillip was a man of many passions. He found joy in drawing, fishing, and BBQing, often sharing delicious meals with his loved ones. He had a deep appreciation for music, enjoying a diverse range of artists from Nirvana and Sublime to Lynyrd Skynyrd and Linkin Park. His love for college football, particularly for the University of Texas Longhorns, was a defining part of his personality.
A devoted father, Phillip took immense pride in his children, Caleb, Leela, and Marley, frequently sharing stories about them and celebrating their achievements. He was known for his welcoming nature and had the unique ability to engage in conversation about nearly any topic, making him a cherished friend and confidant.
Phillip's professional life included surveying and working as a handyman, where he gained respect for his skills and work ethic. His life motto, "Be good, or be good at it," reflected his approach to both work and personal relationships.
He is survived by his loving parents, Russel and Phyllis, and stepfather, Bret. Phillip leaves behind his brothers Jared, Andy, Luke, Matt (from Canada), and Nick, as well as his sisters Stephanie, Melissa, and Samantha. Although he wasn’t particularly religious, he believed in Jesus and practiced Christianity.
Phillip will be remembered for his vibrant spirit, love for socializing, and the good times he created with those around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
