Peter Gerhard Friesen, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on October 3, 2024, at the age of 85. Born on June 5, 1939, in Drake, Saskatchewan, Peter spent his final years in Calgary, where he was cherished by his family and friends.

Peter, a talented mechanic, dedicated his life to fixing cars and sharing his passion for the craft with those around him. He was known for his easygoing nature and infectious sense of humor, often bringing laughter and joy to any gathering. His calm demeanor and ability to bring people together were among his proudest accomplishments, as he cherished the time spent with loved ones.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Julia A. Friesen, and his four children: Brad Friesen, Sheryle McLennan, Christine Oilund, and Delaine Fisher. He also leaves behind his stepchildren, Joseph Eric Gamban, Rita Basco, Roger Gamban, and Reynaldo Gamban.

Peter was a devoted grandfather, known affectionately as "Grandpa" and "Daddy Peter." He took great pride in his family, which also included siblings Dave, Herm, Ben, and Agnes Friesen. His favorite place in the world was his chair, where he often enjoyed watching his favorite television shows, including "The Price is Right," "Dr. Phil," "Judge Judy," "Maury," "Jerry Springer," and "Law & Order."

In his later years, Peter converted to Catholicism, finding comfort and strength in his faith. He will be remembered for his warmth, humor, and the love he shared with all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of family unity and countless cherished memories.
