Penny Bankston, born on June 12, 1955, in Bonham, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2024, in Denison, Texas. Penny was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, known for her warmth, creativity, and unwavering love for her family.
Penny loved Dr. Pepper more than most. She had a passion for quilting, sewing, and crafting, often creating beautiful pieces that became treasured family heirlooms. Penny cherished her time spent in Tennessee with family friends, where she felt most at home. Most of all, she found immense joy in attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and cheering them on at all of their functions, firmly believing that family moments were the most precious of all.
Penny is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Amber and Cye Carter, along with her beloved grandchildren Ridley, Adaline, Hayes and Autry. As well as her brother Rick Bankston and wife Cindy, and niece Zoe and husband Hayden Fraley.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Victoria and her parents, Betty Bankston, and C.A. and Mary Bankston.
Penny will be deeply missed by her many family members and friends, whose lives she touched with her kindness and creativity. Her legacy of love will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
