Penny loved to help people whether they asked for it or not. He dared anyone to shoot free-throws against him or challenge him in a game of billiards. He especially loved anything to do with the Central High School class of 1970 and their various activities.
Penny is proceeded in death by his sons Micki Arnold and Michael. His loving mother Myrtice C. Arnold, father Rufus Arnold, siblings Mary Helen Cook, Ronald Arnold, Sherrie Scandrick, Myrtice Arnold, and special nephew Kerry Arnold. He leaves to honor his memory: his pride and joy, daughter Amber P. Arnold, sons Victor Yi, Eric Hunter, Taime Jamison, and Ken Arnold. Special significant other Ms. Beverly Dunnon. Beloved grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friend Willene Arnold.
Peniston C. Arnold, affectionately known as "Penny" or "Big Money Grip," passed away on November 29, 2024, in his beloved hometown of Newnan, Georgia. He was born on August 18, 1952, in Newnan, where he spent most of his life and developed deep roots in the community.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, Penny held various occupations throughout his colorful life, but he cherished his role as the supervising custodian at Thomas Crossroads Elementary School in Sharpsburg, Georgia. He was known for his generous spirit, always eager to lend a helping hand, whether solicited or not. His passion for charity work exemplified his commitment to giving back to others.
Penny was a vibrant personality who loved to entertain those around him with his engaging storytelling and infectious laughter. His favorite pastimes included watching sports, winning at gambling, riding his zero-turn lawnmower, and playfully fussing over spending money on his cherished Baby Sweet. He was also known for his competitive nature, daring anyone to challenge him in a game of free-throw shooting or billiards.
He will be deeply missed by his pride and joy, daughter Amber P. Arnold, and sons Victor Yi, Eric Hunter, Taime Jamison, and Ken Arnold. Penny is also survived by his special significant other, Ms. Beverly Dunnon, as well as beloved grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friend Willene Arnold. He is preceded in death by his sons Micki Arnold and Michael, his loving mother Myrtice C. Arnold, father Rufus Arnold, siblings Mary Helen Cook, Ronald Arnold, Sherrie Scandrick, Myrtice Arnold, and special nephew Kerry Arnold.
Penny was a faithful member of Powell Chapel Church, embodying a spirit of warmth and friendship. He had a unique ability to draw people in, never meeting a stranger and leaving a lasting impression on everyone he encountered. His legacy of kindness, humor, and love will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who knew him.
