Paula Jean Case, born on November 29, 1970, in Marshall, MO, passed away on August 17, 2024, at St. Luke East Hospital in Lee Summit Missouri. Paula was a vibrant spirit who cherished the outdoors, spending her days camping, gardening, and enjoying the beauty of nature. Her favorite place in the world was the lake, where she found joy and peace.
Paula loved music, especially country, with Shania Twain, Sugarland, Alan Jackson, and Alabama being among her favorites. She found great solace in the melodies that accompanied her life. She was well-known for her love of roast and mashed potatoes, a comfort food that brought her joy.
A proud mother and grandmother, Paula is survived by her son D.J. Phegley, her daughters Ashlee Case, Jessica Case, and Roselyn Case and her grandchildren Jocelynne Mills, Kaleigh Phegley, Callie Phegley, Jase, Kimberlynn, and Jameson Hoyes. She was also the mother and grandmother of Zachary Sylvester, and Kenneth Hoyes who has since passed. Paula found immense pride in her role as "Mimi," a title she cherished deeply.
Family was everything to Paula, and she leaves behind her father Vernon Sylvester, her mother Sharon Treece, her brothers Jeremy Sylvester and Joey Winfrey, and her sisters Wilena Sims and Crystal Nading. Several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Paula was known for her caring nature and her willingness to help others. She had a remarkable ability to brighten the lives of those around her, often giving her shirt off her back to anyone in need. Her beloved dog, Charlie, was her faithful companion, always by her side as she embraced her love for the outdoors.
Paula lived by the mottos, "Never give up" and "It’s not a bad life, just a bad day," reflecting her resilient spirit and unwavering positivity. She will be remembered as one of the most beautiful, loving people one could ever know, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and compassion. Her warm smile and loving heart will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Along with Zachary and Kenneth Paula was proceeded in death by her grandparents Elsie and Joseph Treece, Harvey and Ilene Sylvester, and Virgina Sylvester. As well as step parents Lloyd Winfrey, Louise (Pickles) Sylvester, and Debbie Walgren.
We will be celebrating the life of Paula Jean Case. Family and Friends are welcome. We will have food, and drinks. If you’d like to bring something you are more then welcome to do that as well. Come help us remember the good times with her.❤️ Thank you.. We ask people to wear jeans if they are able to.
