Paul's favorite hobbies

Curling, camping, looking for history where ever he could find it, in objects, in museums, in books, in exploring old mine sites.

Paul's favorite foods

Sea food, Doukhobor food, Chinese food, garlic sausage, cheese, dill pickles, hot peppers.

Favorite bands and musical artists

Rock and roll. Fleetwood Mac, CCR, Eagles, Steppenwolf, Corey Hart, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, The Who and many others.

Interesting facts about Paul

Jack of all trades, stubborn, could drive anything with or without wheels, boats, snowmachines, forklifts, skidsteers and of course the "torpedo".

Paul loved nothing more than

Doing things on the spur of the moment. Going camping at 9 pm., having a party that wasn't planned, laying on the porch to watch the stars, stirring everybody up and then sneaking out of the room and going to bed, being out on the water, walking along the railroad track.

Favorite place in the world

Paul loved the outdoors more than any other place in the world.

Favorite TV shows

American Pickers, The Curse of Oak Island, Lost Car Rescue, Mountain Men, movies he made about mysterious things that happened in the alley way.

Favorite sports

Curling, curling, curling, fishing, fishing and then fishing, and oh yeah are smoking and drinking sports?

Interesting facts about Paul

Paul had many adventures and misadventures with his best buddies Tom Mackintosh and Leonard Kozak. I bet they could write a book about their escapades. Paul told me they swam across the Saskatchewan river one day, only Paul couldn't swim, he thought that might be his last adventure but he made it. Please add adventures of your own that you shared with him. We'd love to read them

Obituario

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Albert Paul Hamoline, known as Paul. Paul leaves behind his wonderful son Heath and Heath's wife Cindi. Paul was very proud of his granddaughters Schezel, Amanda and Kayla and his great grandchildren Kayden, Bodhi, Hunter, Ember, Thomas and Mathew. He is also survived by siblings Yvonne (Lorne), Laurette, Maurice (MaryLou) David (Linda) and sister in law Frieda, nieces and nephews, Christa, Matthew, Nicole, Ben, Anthony, Christopher, Andrew, Paul, Lela, Nadine and Michelle. He is predeceased by his parents Albert and Gladys Hamoline and brother Perry.

Paul was accomplished in many things, right after highschool, Paul worked for United Grain Growers and then became a master at heavy duty mechanics, becoming the Mechanical Superintendent for the northern region of BC. Later he owned and operated a pop shop, second hand store, apartments in downtown Smithers, was a councilman for the Village of Telkwa, captained and cooked on charter boats and many other things. He loved having a huge shop to work in and helped many people to fix things.

Paul loved to take pictures, to listen to music, to search for historical treasures and walk out in nature.

Do Not Stand By My Grave and Weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep

I am not there. I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow.

I am the diamond glints on snow.

I am the sunlight on ripened grain.

I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awaken in the morning’s hush

I am the swift uplifting rush

Of quiet birds in circled flight.

I am the soft stars that shine at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry;

I am not there. I did not die.
