Patrick Gerard Kirwan, 69, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2025, in Calgary, Alberta. Born in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, Patrick lived a life rooted in love, kindness, and deep devotion to his family.

He was the proud father of three daughters, each of whom brought immense joy and pride to his life: Christina Kirwan (Greg Welch), Robin Myette (Allan Myette), and Holly Kirwan (Rod Forbes). His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Anna & Eva Kirwan-Welch, Jane, Will, Leo Myette, and Hayes Forbes. Patrick also had a special love for his grand-dogs, Scotia, Winnie, and Abby, who brought him endless joy and companionship. With a Tim's in hand, and a pocket full of candy, Patrick spent many of his later years joyfully watching his grandchildren and grand-dogs, delighting in their antics, playing sports, accomplishments, and laughter.

Patrick enjoyed a long and loyal career at Michelin Tires, where he worked for 36 years. He formed lasting friendships and was known for his dedication, sense of humor, and the kindness he showed to colleagues. While working full-time, Patrick wholeheartedly supported his daughters—never missing their activities, cheering from the sidelines, and coaching their softball teams for several years. He balanced work and fatherhood with unwavering devotion, creating memories his daughters will cherish forever. His daughters will miss his good advice, his humor, and his thoughtful presence in their lives and in the lives of his grandchildren.

He is lovingly remembered by his sisters, Lillian MacEachern and Bernadette MacLean, who shared a lifetime of memories with him. Patrick was predeceased by his parents, Mildred and Leo Kirwan, and his siblings, Cecilia, Blase, Mary, Willie, and Leo.

One of Patrick’s greatest sources of pride was his journey of sobriety. For the last nine years, he attended AA meetings in Calgary with steadfast commitment, offering support, encouragement, and understanding to others walking the same path. Through his honesty, compassion, and quiet strength, Patrick inspired many to believe that change was possible. The deep friendships he formed within the AA community will be remembered with gratitude by all who knew him there.

Over the last year, Patrick faced a new cancer diagnosis followed by additional complications. Throughout this battle, he never wanted to give up. His sense of humor remained intact, even to the end, bringing smiles and laughter to the nurses and doctors who cared for him.

Patrick will be remembered for his warmth, strength, and unwavering dedication to those he loved. His presence touched many lives, and the impact of his life will continue to be felt by all who knew him.
