Patricia “Pat” Robinson was born on January 4,1954 to the parents of Elnora Johnson and Joseph Robinson in New Orleans, LA.  She married Bernard Ries, after the birth of her eldest daughter.  Although inspiring to be a nurse, she worked a fulfilled career as a dry cleaner’s attendant before later relocating to Chicago, IL.

She was the proud mother of four children and despite her life challenges, her proudest accomplishments were her children.

Her belief in building a strong community for Black Americans through the understanding of their religious culture and roots led her to practice the Israelite (Yahweh religion) in her earlier years. She later converted to Christianity in which she gave her life over to Christ.

Pat was most known for her loving, kind, straight forward down-to-earth personality that embraced the good in everyone without judgement.  Her selflessness captured the lives of many as she was willing to give what she had to help others. Although small in stature, she was always ready to put away a good bowl of smothered okra with shrimp and tomatoes over hot white rice. She was a strong fighter up until the end of her life story.
