Patricia Ann James Bowens, fondly known as Pat, passed away at home on May 5, 2024, at the age of 64 after her long battle with cancer. She was born on November 13, 1959, in Washington D.C. and had most recently resided in Greensboro, N.C.
Pat attended Eastern High School and Barber Scotia College, where she pursued her education. She was proud of her work in the Adventure Pathfinder Club and Senior Citizens Ministry, she served as an Usher. Her dedication to these roles touched the lives of many, both young and old.
Pat was married to her beloved husband, Brevard Bowens, and together they shared many cherished memories. She leaves behind her daughter, Decie Bowens, and son, Brevard Bowens Jr., who will forever carry her love in their hearts.
In addition to her immediate family, Pat is survived by her sister, Peggy James, and her nieces Travonna, Victoria, and Mary. Her beloved Mother-in-Law Ruby Pollard Bowens Davis(Daniel). Her Sister's-in-law, Wanda, Verona(Jeremiah) and Lisa(Michael Sr.) and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins, Friends, and Church Family. She had a special knack for making people laugh and joke, and her humorous personality brightened the lives of those around her.
Pat was a hard worker in her church community and had a deep impact on the lives of seniors and youth alike. She was actively involved in various community organizations and charities, particularly supporting cancer research. Pat also took on leadership roles in health projects, demonstrating her commitment to making a difference.
As a member of Dupont SDA Church and East Market Street SDA Church, Pat found solace and strength in her faith. Her unwavering religious beliefs provided her with comfort and guided her through life's challenges.
Patricia Ann James Bowens will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her warm heart, sense of humor, and dedication to serving others will be remembered and cherished. May she rest in eternal peace.
