Dr. Pamela Theresa Dyer-Goode, M.D., was born on October 7, 1946, in Philadelphia, PA, to the late Mable Ruth and Kirby Wadsworth Clyatt, Sr. Our beloved Dr. Dyer-Goode departed this earth on February 16, 2023, to be with her heavenly father.
Dr. Dyer-Goode grew up in South Philadelphia, graduating from Saint Maria Goretti High School. She attended Cheyney University and earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. Subsequent to completing undergrad, Pamela graduated from Temple University in 1977 earning a Doctor of Medicine degree. She specialized in Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Family Medicine. She opened solo practices in Southwest Philadelphia, Queen Village, and Society Hill. She received accolades and praise in the media for her astounding accomplishments as a physician. Dr. Dyer-Goode was a published author and ended her career as the Medical Director of Substance Abuse Treatment Centers in the Philadelphia region. "Doc," as she was affectionately known, was a trailblazer.
As a teenager and young adult, Dr. Dyer-Goode attended the Philadelphia Ballet Company where she excelled in ballet, tap, and jazz. She also enjoyed participating in beauty pageants, cooking, sewing clothes by hand, grooving to music, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. In 1983, she moved from Penrose Park to Bala Cynwyd, PA, and was known as "the woman who lived in the house on the hill."
Dr. Dyer-Goode was married to Vincent Dyer and Kenneth Goode, respectively, and was blessed with four wonderful and loving children. She was a dedicated and devoted mother who taught her children to strive for educational excellence, be resilient, and that being tenacious would propel them to success.
Dr. Dyer-Goode was the second of six children. She was preceded in death by her parents Mabel Ruth and Kirby Wadsworth Clyatt, Sr.; her brothers, Kirby Wadsworth Clyatt, Jr. and Barry Wayne Clyatt; and her son, Brian Charles Goode.
