Pamela Murray Mackins, a beloved member of the community, passed away on June 22, 2024, at the age of 61. Born on September 23, 1962, in Brooklyn, NY, Pamela spent her most recent years in Gastonia, NC. She will be remembered for her warm heart, infectious personality, and unwavering love for her family.
Pamela had a passion for cooking and spending quality time with her loved ones. She especially enjoyed playing cards and cherished the moments shared with her children. Turkey and macaroni and cheese were among her favorite dishes, and she often found joy in listening to the Isley Brothers' music.
Known for her outgoing nature, Pamela was a woman who embraced life with open arms. She found solace in the comfort of her home, which she considered her favorite place in the world. When not at home, she enjoyed watching the TV show "Sistas" and cheering for her favorite football team.
Professionally, Pamela was a talented cosmetologist and health care worker. Her dedication to her work and her ability to touch the lives of others earned her the title of Superwoman. She took pride in her achievements and was known for her motto, "I ain't knock the dust off my pistol in a while!"
Pamela's proudest accomplishment was raising her family. She was a loving mother to her daughters, Shamon Thomasson and Christian Thomasson. Additionally, she adored her granddaughters, Iyahna Hale, Taaliyah Thomasson, and Malorie Thomasson.
Pamela is survived by her siblings, Sandy Terrill, William Murray, and Levi Melvin. Her presence will be deeply missed by her family and friends, who were touched by her fun-loving spirit and her ability to make everyone feel welcome. She had a special affinity for shotguns and showed others the purest form of love.
In her role as a neighborhood mom, Pamela made a lasting impact on those around her. Her leadership and contributions to the community will be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
