Treasure hunting, traveling, reading a good book and loved taking his luck to the Casinos. He loved history and the stock market. Reading and studying the Bible. Visiting family and friends. Walking dogs. Exploring his Native American Heritage. He was a proud member of the Cherokee Nation.
Casey’s homemade anything. Especially ~ Salisbury steak dinner with mashed potatoes, brown gravy, and French style green beans. Topped off with chocolate cake. He also loved finding a good restaurant and hot peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream on top.

He was an accountant in the Vietnam war. He spent many hours exploring with his medal detector. He was very intelligent, reliable and dependable. He was a member of the Cherokee Nation. Tom was the youngest child and the only boy. Played on a bowling league. A devout Christian and a father of 2 boys whom he dearly loved. He worked at ConocoPhillips for 34 years and retired. His favorite color was blue.

Owen “Tom” Thomas Sissons, born on May 19, 1948, in Stillwater, OK, passed away on August 19, 2024, in Ponca City, OK. A proud member of the Cherokee Nation and an honorable veteran of the Vietnam War, Tom was known for his intelligence, kindness, and great sense of humor.
Tom graduated from Newkirk High School in 1966. He went on to further his education and play baseball for Northern Oklahoma College. Tom dedicated 34 years of his life to ConocoPhillips before retiring in 2007, but his true passions were found outside of work. He was an avid treasure hunter and he loved visiting casinos. He enjoyed traveling, reading, and studying the Bible.
Family was paramount to Tom. He cherished two sons with former wife Carolyn (Windes) Sissons, William “Ray” Sissons and Theodore “Ted” Sissons, and expressed his love for them throughout his life. Tom was the only son of Ray Sissons and Perle Mary (Blair) Sissons. He is survived by one sister Mary (Sissons) Atkin of Kansas and son Ray Sissons of Texas along with nieces and nephews. Although they were not blood relatives. Tom held Casey Manchego and her family dear to his heart for over 33 years. He was proceeded in death by both parents, Ray Sissons and Perle (Blair) Sissons. Four sisters Bettie (Sissons) Tod, Rae Mae (Sissons) Hudson, Ruth Ann Sissons, Beulah Grace (Sissons) Cox and son Ted Sissons.
A devout Christian, Tom was a man who believed in treating others with kindness, living by the motto, "You cannot control others but you can pray for them and do the best you can for yourself." His legacy of generosity and care for others will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. Tom’s spirit will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and the community he served.
