Ora Nell Gray, born on September 8, 1952, in Columbus, MS, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2024, in Caledonia, MS. A dedicated mother and grandmother, Ora's greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She was married to Louis Gray, Jr., and together they traveled abroad as he served in the military, returning to Columbus in 1994.
Ora was formerly employed as a driver with U.S.A. Carrier and at the Columbus Air Force Base Commissary. Her love for cooking was well-known among her loved ones, and she cherished the time spent preparing meals for her family. A devoted fan, Ora enjoyed watching her favorite football team, the San Francisco 49ers.
She is survived by her three children: Latonya (Undra) Robinson of Caledonia, MS, Louis D. Gray of New Orleans, LA, and Tony L. Gray of Savannah, GA. Ora was a proud grandmother to nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind two brothers, Larry Shirley and Jimmie, both of Steens, MS.
Ora was a faithful member of the Freedom Worship Center Church under the leadership of Pastor Torrance Nash. Her legacy of love, fellowship, and cherished family moments will be remembered by all who knew her.
