Olivia Elizabeth Lee, lovingly known as Liz, was born on January 17, 1954, in Washington, DC. She peacefully passed away on June 15, 2024, on the outskirts of Atlanta, GA.
Liz had a vibrant personality and a zest for life. She had a wide range of hobbies, including fishing, cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family. Her favorite foods included smothered chicken, liver and onions, lima beans and chitlins! Liz had a deep appreciation for music, particularly Gospel and The Temptations.
She was the glue that held her family together, and she loved nothing more than spending quality time with her children and grandchildren. Liz had a special place in her heart for traveling the world. A torch that she passed on to her loving daughter.
Professionally, Liz had an entrepreneur spirit, as she was a chef, a caterer, and an event planner before retiring. She took great pride in raising her children to follow in her footsteps of entrepreneurship and carrying on her legacy.
Liz is survived by her children, Lemont "Shamir" Carter, Olivia Sherine Lee the 4th, Alana Richardson And Kenya Lawrence whom both she raised from little girls. In 2019, she lost her middle child, Amon Ashley. A heartbreak that she never quite recovered from. She was also a doting grandmother to Gabriel "Gabe" Mcmillian, Shamir "ShaSha" Vason, Deonte "DJ" Lee, Zion Richardson, Londyn Mason, Nyalise Carter, and Ralpheal "Jr" Thomas.
Despite enduring personal tragedies early in life, Liz did not find out who her biological family was until the late 80's. As a young girl, she was surrounded by the love of her chosen family. She found solace and support in Arletta, Terri, Bruce, Rod, and Sandy Cheatham, who became her sisters and brothers from another mother!
Her genuine and caring nature touched the hearts of everyone she knew. Her door was always open for those in need. She leaves behind a cherished legacy of love, resilience, and strength.
To know Olivia was to love her. Her impact on the lives of others was immeasurable, and she will be deeply be missed but NEVER forgotten.
