She loved being with family and friends.
She often talked about her trip to Jerusalem and being very meaningful.
She liked watching Andy Griffith every night before bed.
Olive Gertrude Leighter, known to her loved ones as Gertrude, passed away on March 29, 2024, at the age of 99. She was born on August 17, 1924, in Oak Grove, MO. Olive had been residing at Addington Place of Lee's Summit at the time of her death.
Olive had a vibrant personality and enjoyed various hobbies throughout her life. She delighted in shopping and cherished moments spent fishing. Olive had a particular fondness for eating out and relished any opportunity to savor a meal that she did not have to cook.
In addition to her hobbies, Olive dedicated herself to her family and held various roles in her lifetime. She was a loving wife and mother, and at times, she worked outside the house at Kansas City Screw Products, the family business. Olive took immense pride in her three sons and their families.
One of Olive's most cherished memories was her trip to Jerusalem, which held deep meaning for her. She often spoke about the experience with great fondness. In her leisure time, she found solace in watching the television show "Andy Griffith" every night before bed.
Olive, also affectionately known as Gertrude, will be remembered for her compassion, empathy, and unwavering loyalty to her family and friends. She possessed a unique ability to show kindness and charity to those in need, and her generosity knew no bounds.
Olive Leighter is survived by two of her sons, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-granddaughters, and great-great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know her. Olive's legacy of love and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
